We will soon have a Stack Rank question type available, which will allow participants to rank options in order of importance. Read on to learn more!

What is a Stack Rank question?

Stack rank questions allow you to rank the priority of options.

Participant experience:

1) The participant will see the list of options available. They cannot click the Submit button until they either add a number to the options or drag and drop the options into order.

2) Once the selections have been re-ordered or renumbered, they can submit the question.

Participants are required to select a rank for at least one option via dragging the options or entering a number before they can click Submit. Once at least one option is set, the rank order is shown and participants can either submit or continue to re-order the option.

How can Stack Rank data be analyzed?

When participants stack rank options for a question, you will be able to review the data both on individual transcripts and also on the Insights page or custom reporting.

To summarize Stack Rank questions across participants, the data is weighted by order of ranking.

For example, let's say there are 2 participants and 5 options (Features A-E). The highest-ranked option gets position #1, which gives it a score of 5 points, while the worst-ranked option gets position #5, which gives it a score of 1 point.

  1. Feature B (9 points)

  2. Feature A (8 points)

  3. Feature D (6 points)

  4. Feature C (5 points)

  5. Feature E (2 points)

This is how your data will be summarized in the Insights page and Custom Reporting when you have a Stack Rank question.
