You can easily export your insights or custom reports from Outset into a PowerPoint (PPTX) format to share findings with your team, clients, or stakeholders. The export is fully editable, so you can quickly tailor it for internal presentations or client deliverables.

1. What you can export

There are two places where you can export to PPTX in Outset:

  • Insights Page: This includes an overview of your interview findings—executive summary, key themes, charts, and selected quotes.

  • Custom Report: If you've created a tailored report from your insights, you can export that as well.

Both options use the same export flow and format.

2. How to export to PPTX

To download a presentation-ready file:

  1. Go to either the Insights or Reports page.

  2. Click the Download button at the top of the page.

  3. Select Export as PPTX.

Your download will begin automatically.

3. What’s included in the PowerPoint

The exported file is designed for easy editing and reuse. Here’s the standard slide structure:

  • Title slide

  • Project overview

  • Executive summary

  • For each interview question, a 3-slide loop:

    • Slide 1: The question text

    • Slide 2: Graphs and overall themes

    • Slide 3: Selected participant quotes

  • Thank you slide

Slides include text, charts, and placeholders for images. While video clips and media are not included in the export, you can manually add them after download.

Currently, quotes will not be translated, and will appear in the original language.

4. Customizing your deck

Currently, the export uses a fixed format based on your insights or report content. You can’t select individual questions or quotes before exporting—but once the file is downloaded, everything in the deck is editable in PowerPoint. You can add or remove slides, update charts, or insert media as needed.

Note that the export is currently optimized for Microsoft PowerPoint only, so graphics may not display as expected in Google Slides.

5. Who can export to PPTX

All users on Outset can export to PPTX—no special permissions or plan upgrades are required.
