As your interviews roll in, the best place to start the analysis of your data is on the Insights page. This is where you'll find automatically-generated AI insights based on your completed interviews.

Read on to learn more about the features and analysis tools included!

The Insights page can be found in the menu on the left side of your screen just beneath the conversations tab

Executive Summary section

At the top, you'll find a quick overview of the interview topics, # of completed interviews, and average session time.

Highlights section

This is where you'll find some of the overarching themes from participant responses.

Dive Deeper with Chat With Your Data

If your organization has "Chat With Your Data" enabled, you can click dive deeper on each highlight to uncover more nuanced data. The format for diving deeper is a conversation with Outset's AI, similar to what participants see during interviews.

This will include:

1) Detailed Explanation and Insights - with a more in-depth overview of the specific highlighted theme based on insights drawn from across participant conversations

and 2) supporting quotes that give you verbatim pieces of the conversation relevant to the highlight. You can click on any of these quotes to read more in the full transcript.

Separately from the "Dive Deeper" button, you can also always start a new conversation with "Chat With Your Data" by clicking the button on the bottom right of your Insights page.

Doing so will generate a new chat for you, where you can explore themes of your choosing or look for quotes supporting a question you're interested in.

Findings section

This is where you'll be able to get a deep look at the data from your study. The findings section is organized in the same order as the sections and questions in your study interview guide.

For example, in the Insights page below we had one interview guide question in section 1, and multiple in section 2.

For each question from your interview guide, the Insights page automatically generates a report question to investigate relevant themes.

For example, this question on motivations behind nutrition goals has categorized responses into a variety of qualitative categories.

If you click into a bar on the graph or a category on the right-hand side, you can review participant quotes backing up those themes.

For qualitative questions, you will also see insight nuggets highlighting themes and video highlight reels as well (for video-based interviews). Learn more about viewing, editing, and creating video highlight reels here (LINK).

Finally, the Insights page also summarizes any quantitative data as well:
